Manama : The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) resolution, regarding Palestine’s right to obtain full membership in the United Nations. The resolution adopted by majority vote of 143 also recommended that the Security Council reconsider the matter favourably. It also grants Palestine additional rights and privileges related to its status in the international organisation. Kabul : An Afghan Interior Ministry spokesperson reported that heavy rains in Baghlan province, northern Afghanistan, today, Friday, led to fatal floods claiming the lives of at least 50 people, predominantly women and children. The death toll is expected to increase.
