Cairo : Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, received the Best Arab Minister Award during the Arab Government Excellence Awards ceremony held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, Egypt. The event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, alongside ministers and officials from across the Arab world.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa expressed pride in receiving the prestigious award, dedicating it to the efforts of Team Bahrain. He attributed the achievement to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He reaffirmed Team Bahrain’s commitment to implementing plans and programmes that advance Bahrain’s comprehensive development.
The minister lauded the Arab Government Excellence Awards initiative for promoting a culture of institutional excellence and highlighting innovative projects in the Arab world. He emphasised the importance of such initiatives in improving government efficiency and ensuring a better future for Arab citizens.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa also celebrated Bahrain’s additional wins at the awards, including Best Arab Government Project to Empower Young People for the national ” Lamea” programme and best Arab government social development project for the Alternative Sentencing and Open Prisons initiative.
He congratulated General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, for the recognition of the Alternative Sentencing initiative and commended its innovative approach to community development. He also congratulated Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, for the success of the Lamea programme in empowering Bahraini youth.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa highlighted the important role of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, in supporting and driving successes in the youth and sports sectors.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa expressed appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his initiatives to enhance governance across the Arab world. He also praised the efforts of the UAE government and the League of Arab States in organising the awards, which aim to promote innovation and excellence in Arab government performance.
He concluded by thanking the award’s organisers and the Arab Administrative Development Organisation for their trust and recognition. Shaikh Salman affirmed that the honour serves as a motivation to continue striving for excellence and innovation in government work, acknowledging the contributions of Bahraini teams toward achieving national aspirations.
The Arab Government Excellence Awards, launched by the UAE government in partnership with the League of Arab States and the Arab Administrative Development Organisation, aim to develop government performance, showcase successful experiences, and foster leadership thinking and innovation for a better future in the Arab world.
