London : Jacques Rogge, who oversaw an era of political and financial stability in the Olympic movement and pursued a hard line against doping during his 12 years as IOC president, has died, the Olympic organization said Sunday. He was 79. The International Olympic Committee announced his death without giving details. India: Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan will embark upon a three-day visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain from August 30 to September 1, 2021. This will be his first visit to the country. During the visit, the MoS will hold discussions with Bahraini Ministers and dignitaries. Dubai : Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has installed 15 electric vehicle (EV) Green Charger stations at Expo 2020 Dubai’s pavilions: Opportunity; Sustainability and Mobility. The Green Chargers will serve the electric vehicles visitors to the Expo. DEWA has installed five Green Chargers at each pavilion, enough to charge 30 electric vehicles simultaneously, in addition to two stations currently being built at the Expo office, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported. Tokyo : Taro Kono, the Japanese minister in charge of the vaccine rollout, promised Sunday a timely administering of booster shots for the coronavirus, as the nation aims to fully vaccinate its population by October or November.
