Manila :A magnitude 5.7 aftershock struck Sarangani province in the Philippines, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said on Saturday. The aftershock was centred 21 kilometres west of Balut Island in Davao Occidental province. The institute said the tremor was an aftershock of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Sarangani on Monday and warned that further damage is possible.

Abu Dhabi : The United Arab Emirates (UAE) categorically denied reports published by certain international media outlets alleging the transfer of funds from the UAE to the Islamic Republic of Iran, including claims concerning USD 3 billion. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the allegations are false and unfounded, stressing that no frozen Iranian funds have been released, transferred, or facilitated through the UAE. The ministry called on media outlets to exercise accuracy, rely on official sources, and refrain from publishing or circulating unverified information and unfounded allegations.
Manama : The Ministry of Labour announced that Edict (5) of 2026 regulating the midday work ban during the summer period will come into effect on Monday, June 15, and remain in force until August 31, 2026. Under the edict, employers are prohibited from requiring workers to perform duties in open outdoor areas under direct sunlight between 12:00 noon and 4:00 P.M. The measure forms part of ongoing efforts to maintain a safe working environment and protect workers from heat stress, sunstroke, and other summer-related health risks, while reducing occupational accidents during the period of high temperatures and humidity. Rome : One person died and three others were injured in a helicopter crash near Lake Maggiore in northern Italy. Initial reports indicated that the helicopter took off from a villa on the Italian side of the lake before experiencing technical problems shortly after departure. Local media reported that the victim was 60 years old. Two of the injured were airlifted to hospital for treatment, while no further details were released regarding the identities of those on board. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances and cause of the crash.

Manama : The FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) will continue to be held at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) until at least 2036 following a long-term extension of the circuit’s agreement with the series. BIC has been part of the FIA WEC calendar since the championship’s inaugural season in 2012 and has hosted 14 races to date. Bahrain has also regularly hosted the final race of the season.
