Manama :  The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 4,003 inspection campaigns and visits during the month of May 2026, which resulted in the detention of 129 violating and irregular workers, while 324 violators were deported as part of continuous efforts to maintain a fair, stable, and competitive labour market. Manama : The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, in cooperation with the Southern Governorate, developed a digital service for the payment and refund of security deposits for non-commercial camping permits as part of ongoing government efforts to improve and re-engineer public services. Geneva : The World Health Organisation (WHO) warned of growing global risks associated with food contamination, stressing that it is one of the leading causes of illness and death worldwide, particularly among children. The WHO noted that consuming food contaminated with bacteria, viruses, parasites or harmful chemicals causes around 1.5 million deaths annually, in addition to hundreds of millions of cases of foodborne illness.
