Abu Dhabi : Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), participated in the 50th meeting of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities’ Governors, held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain affirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination among Arab central banks and monetary authorities, particularly in light of rapid global and regional developments. He highlighted the role of joint coordination meetings in promoting knowledge sharing and best practices and supporting joint efforts to strengthen financial stability and economic resilience in Arab countries.
During the meeting, the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain participated in a session titled “Strengthening the Framework for Financial Stability and Macroprudential Policy in Arab Countries”, where he presented Bahrain’s experience in responding to recent regional developments and strengthening the resilience of the financial sector.
He also participated in the first session of a high-level roundtable titled “Macroeconomic Resilience Amid Geopolitical Turmoil”, which brought together central bank governors to discuss the responses and policies adopted to address recent developments in the region and the world.
The meeting discussed key issues and priorities related to monetary and financial stability in the Arab region. It also addressed ways to strengthen financial stability and develop macroprudential policy frameworks, as well as support regional financial cooperation and review institutional and governance developments, contributing to strengthening the resilience and integration of the Arab financial sector.
