Cairo : The Arab Republic of Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad announced that the eight Egyptian sailors who had been kidnapped aboard the M/T Eureka off the coast of Somalia’s Puntland region since 2 May had been released.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ambassador Nader Zaki said that Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, had instructed the Egyptian Embassy in Mogadishu to receive the Egyptian sailors, check on their well-being, and facilitate their return to Egypt on the earliest available flight.
