Cairo : Nabil Fahmy, Secretary General of the Arab League, condemned the Iranian missile attack on an ADNOC tanker while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz. In a statement, Fahmy described the attack as another in a series of Iranian violations of freedom of navigation and the safety of maritime routes. Riyadh :  Eleven civilians were injured in Najran following attacks carried out by the Houthi militia, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced. Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al Malki said the injured included seven Saudi nationals, among them a woman and a four-year-old child who sustained second-degree burns, one Yemeni national, and two Egyptian and one Pakistani expatriates. Tokyo : A powerful typhoon approached southwestern Japan, prompting official warnings of heavy rain and strong winds across Okinawa, Amami and southern Kyushu. The Japan Meteorological Agency warned of landslides in Kumamoto Prefecture, which was affected by a recent earthquake, and said wind speeds associated with the typhoon had reached 198 km/h. The agency forecast up to 200 mm of rainfall over 24 hours in Okinawa and Amami, and up to 180 mm in southern Kyushu, urging residents to remain alert to the storm’s potential impacts over the weekend.
