Washington, : The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has announced an additional $100 million in humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
Samantha Power, USAID Administrator, said that the United States, through USAID, will provide crucial additional humanitarian assistance worth $100 million to Palestinians in dire need across Gaza and the West Bank.
The USAID Administrator added that this funding would support the World Food Programme (WFP), a partner of USAID, to deliver emergency food assistance in Gaza and the West Bank.
She noted that nearly all Gaza residents face emergency levels of food insecurity and require assistance, especially vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.
With this additional aid, USAID will provide logistical support for the safe and effective delivery of life saving humanitarian assistance throughout Gaza, despite the challenging and unsafe operational environment.
