Colombo : Six people were killed on Friday when a Sri Lanka Air Force helicopter crashed in central Sri Lanka.
The Bell 212 helicopter, carrying 12 military personnel, went down near the Maduru Oya reservoir, approximately 300 kilometres east of Colombo.
Air Force spokesman Group Captain Eranda Geeganage said the helicopter was conducting a training exercise as part of a military display when the crash occurred. Four members of the special forces and two air force personnel later died from their injuries.
