Oman’s health minister said on Thursday that the sultanate had witnessed a “scary” surge in COVID-19 cases that required boosting hospital capacity, especially for intensive care units. Bahrain has announced the death of a 90-year-old male citizen from coronavirus. So far the total has reached up to 93. The MOH expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased. The total cases have driven to 27,414 of which 21,948 have recovered, which means that over 80 percent of the confirmed cases have recovered from the virus. Currently, there are 5,373 active cases. Apple said it would re-close more than two dozen stores in seven states starting Thursday, including its home state of California, bringing total closures to 77 as coronavirus cases continue to rise. The stores will close in Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada and Oklahoma, it said on Wednesday, when additional stores had already closed in Florida, Mississippi, Texas and Utah. Apple has taken a city-by-city approach to opening and closing stores, evaluating data for each community.
