Manama : The Social Insurance Organization (SIO) has launched an upgraded digital service enabling pensioners and eligible beneficiaries to instantly obtain an official certificate confirming the continued transfer of their monthly pension to their bank accounts.
The new service allows users to issue and print the certificate online through SIO’s website using the upgraded eKey 2.0, eliminating the need to visit a service centre. The certificate is issued immediately and includes a QR code for verification by relevant authorities when completing official procedures and transactions.
Sahar Rashed Al Mannai, CEO SIO, said the enhancement reflects the organisation’s commitment to continuously improving its services as part of its digital transformation plans. She said the upgraded service streamlines procedures, speeds up transaction processing, reduces the time and effort required from beneficiaries, and enhances the quality and efficiency of service delivery.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader public service development programme, under which more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated and published, while over 800 services have been redesigned and enhanced across government entities. The programme draws on public feedback submitted through the national Tawasul suggestions and complaints system, investor feedback, and mystery shopper assessments, alongside the introduction of service guides and service level agreements to improve government services and support Bahrain’s digital transformation.
