Manama : The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology has been awarded the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems, covering the development of AI solutions. The certification reflects the Centre’s implementation of international standards for the management, development and operation of AI systems.
The certification adds to the Centre’s international accreditations in AI solutions development and aligns with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts to promote innovation, accelerate digital transformation and expand the use of advanced technologies. It also supports the development of AI technologies in line with international standards through information security, data governance and risk management practices.
ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is the first international standard for AI management systems. It provides organisations with a framework for managing the AI lifecycle, from defining requirements and designing solutions to developing and testing models, as well as deployment, operation, monitoring and continuous improvement.
The certification further advances the Centre’s position in AI development and innovation through the adoption of an institutional approach aligned with international standards. This approach supports the development of reliable, responsible and scalable AI solutions, helping to sustain innovation, improve the quality of outcomes, and enhance the Centre’s readiness to keep pace with rapid developments in the AI sector.
