Manama : The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) launched a media and community initiative aimed at strengthening social cohesion and maintaining public confidence amid current circumstances. The initiative includes awareness and guidance sessions for beneficiaries and the wider public across different age groups, as well as ongoing telephone communication with families to check on their wellbeing. It also features community competitions to promote a sense of belonging and national identity, along with awareness messages disseminated through various media platforms, in addition to a number of community programmes delivered remotely.
Manama : The Ministry of Interior announced the adjustment of the wireless emergency alerts system on smartphones, effective today. Under the revised mechanism, alerts issued in the event of potential danger between midnight and 6:00 a.m. will be transmitted using a notification-only tone.
Manama : Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced the expansion of its temporary operations from King Fahd International Airport to include Istanbul, Athens, and Thiruvananthapuram. Amid the temporary closure of Bahrain’s airspace and that of a number of countries in the region, these three new destinations will complement Gulf Air’s existing temporary services from Dammam to London Heathrow, Mumbai, Nairobi, Cairo, Chennai, Bangkok, Casablanca, Manila, Paris, and Frankfurt. Manama : The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force announced that through the unwavering vigilance of its personnel, the BDF’s air defence systems continue to successfully counter successive waves of the hostile terrorist Iranian aggression. Since the onset of hostilities, air defences have intercepted and destroyed 186 ballistic missiles and 419 drones targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain. New York : The Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York provided the international community with accurate information refuting the false Iranian claims contained in communications from the Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Kingdom’s Mission sent a ninth letter in its national capacity to both the United Nations Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council on March 30. Doha : His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, met with Nikolaos Georgios Dendias, Minister of National Defence of the Hellenic Republic. The meeting reviewed regional developments and their implications for regional and international security and stability, as well as international efforts to contain tensions, reduce escalation, and promote diplomatic solutions. The two sides also discussed cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Hellenic Republic and means to enhance them, particularly in military and security cooperation, to strengthen coordination between the two countries.
Abu Dhabi : The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced that its air defence systems intercepted five ballistic missiles and 35 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran. Since the start of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted 438 ballistic missiles, 19 cruise missiles, and 2,012 UAVs.
