Paris : Thieves broke into Paris’ Louvre Museum by using a crane and smashing an upstairs window on Sunday, stealing priceless jewellery from an area that houses the French crown jewels before escaping on motorbikes, the French government said. The robbery is likely to raise awkward questions about security at the museum, where officials had already sounded the alarm about a lack of investment at a world-famous site that welcomes 8.7 million visitors in 2024. Dhaka : A massive fire broke out at the cargo terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, forcing the suspension of all departing flights, airport officials said. Talha bin Zasim, an officer at the Fire Service and Civil Defence Media Cell, said 36 firefighting units were working to extinguish the blaze. Bucharest : An explosion at an eight-storey apartment block in Romania’s capital Bucharest collapsed floors, killing three people and injuring 14 on Friday, local media reported. The blast broke windows at a nearby high school, news website Hotnews.ro reported. The explosion completely collapsed two floors in the building and affected other apartments below.
