Abu Dhabi : The General Sports Authority (GSA) and the General Sports Authority of the United Arab Emirates signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) about cooperation in sports. Manama : Jameel bin Mohammad Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, met with Nawaf Al Jishi, Chairman of the Bahrain Society of the Private Training Institutes. The meeting discussed cooperation to promote private training institutions, and to provide legislative and administrative needs and technical support so that they can provide high-quality training programmes that meet the needs of the labour market in the kingdom. Manama : A telephone call was held today between His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris.  HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the strength of the Bahrain-U.S. strategic partnership. Fort Worth : At least 21 people were injured Monday in an apparent gas leak explosion at the Sandman Hotel in downtown Fort Worth, Texas, the city’s fire department said. Nobody was killed in the explosion and authorities were investigating the cause, Reuters reported. Craig Trojacek, a spokesman for the Fort Worth Fire Department, said first responders rescued several people trapped in the basement of the hotel. Of the 21 people injured, one person was in critical condition, while four others had serious but not life threatening injuries, Trojacek said. The others sustained minor injuries. Manama, The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), in cooperation with the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (Derasat), has announced the launch of the annual Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) of 2022 and 2023 on the services and mobile applications provided by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA). Manama : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 637 inspection campaigns and visits, during the week of 31 December 2023 to 6 January, which resulted in the detention of 102 violating and irregular workers, while 87 violators were deported. The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in the monitoring of several violations related to the provisions of a number of regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.
