Abu Dhabi : The General Sports Authority (GSA) and the General Sports Authority of the United Arab Emirates signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) about cooperation in sports.
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of GSA, and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC); and of the General Sports Authority, signed the MoU.
The agreement aimed at enhancing cooperation in sports, qualifying sports personnel, organising programmes and activities, and exchanging expertise.
HH Shaikh Khalid emphasized that the signing of the MoU affirmed the deep-rooted bilateral ties and mutual keenness to advance the sports sector.
“We are pleased to sign a memorandum of understanding with the UAE, which will contribute to the exchange of expertise and enhance collaboration to advance the sector on many levels,” HH Shaikh Khalid said.
“The UAE is experiencing significant development in various sectors, including the sports sector, thanks to the support of the UAE President His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,” he added.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad wished the UAE further progress and prosperity.
Dr. Belhoul praised the bilateral relations and the development of the sports sector in both countries, affirming the commitment to fostering sports excellence, boosting cooperation and supporting talents in both countries at regional and international levels.
