Rio de Janeiro : President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt met with President Lula da Silva of Brazil, on the sidelines of his participation in the G20 summit meetings held in Brazil. The Egyptian president and his Brazilian counterpart signed a joint statement on raising relations between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership. The two leaders discussed regional developments as President Sisi reviewed Egypt’s efforts to restore stability in the Middle East and reach an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, praising the Brazilian stand in support of the Palestinian issue.
