Nanjing : One person was killed and four others were injured after a helicopter crashed on Friday in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, east China, local authorities said. The Robinson R44 II helicopter fell from a height of approximately 10 metres while returning from a flight, according to the local emergency management office. One person on the ground was killed, while four people aboard the helicopter were injured.

Washington: U.S. job growth slowed slightly in April, reflecting growing concerns about the outlook for the labour market amid rising economic uncertainty. Nonfarm payrolls increased by 177,000 jobs last month following a revised gain of 185,000 in March, according to the U.S. Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. Economists surveyed by Reuters had expected 130,000 jobs to be added in April, with forecasts ranging from 25,000 to 195,000. Madrid : Spain suffered several power glitches and industry officials sounded repeated warnings about the instability of its power grid in the build up to its catastrophic blackout on Monday. The government has ordered several investigations into the blackout. Industry experts say that whatever the cause, the mass outage and earlier smaller incidents indicate the Spanish power grid faces challenges amid the boom of renewables. Manila : At least 10 people were killed and more than 30 others injured in a road crash in the Philippines involving multiple vehicles, the Philippine Red Cross said on Thursday. The collision occurred shortly after midday on the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway north of the capital Manila, and involved five vehicles including a truck and a passenger bus, the Red Cross said in a Facebook post.
