New Delhi has appealed against the death sentences handed down on eight former Indian Navy employees by a court in Qatar, India’s External Affairs Ministry has said. The eight men, including decorated officers, were working in Doha for Dahra Global Technologies and Consultancy Services, an Oman-based private company that provided training and related services to Qatar’s armed forces. They were arrested by Qatari authorities in August last year and were sentenced last month after a trial that began in March. Mexico City : Authorities found 123 Central and South American migrants trapped in a trailer in the central Mexican state of San Luis Potosi, Mexico’s immigration agency said Thursday. Officials from the state attorney general’s office found the migrants in Matehuala, a city on the border of Nuevo Leon, on Wednesday after a local reported hearing cries for help from a locked trailer box.
