The proceedings were presided over by Mr. Pugalendi Nallusamy, General Manager of Gulf Fencing and Specialists Surfacing. A Journey of Resilience and Humanity
Addressing the spellbound audience, Dr. Vadivel shared the harrowing yet inspiring details of his odyssey, which began in Texas nearly two years ago. His narrative was one of profound resilience; he recounted facing armed robberies, surviving a major motorcycle accident that resulted in a broken shoulder and leg, enduring a stint in a Mozambique prison, and battling severe food poisoning.
Despite these adversities, Dr. Vadivel’s message remained one of optimism. He spoke passionately about peaceful coexistence, shared humanity, and his mission to promote digitization and Artificial Intelligence on a global scale.
“His journey is not merely a feat of physical endurance, but a testament to the power of human connection across borders,” remarked one attendee during the interactive session.
From Ramanathapuram to Silicon Valley Dr. Vadivel’s personal history is as compelling as his travels. Hailing from a modest background in the Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu, he rose to become a renowned research scholar in Information Technology. A former Silicon Valley professional, he held high-ranking positions at Microsoft, contributing to the mobile innovations that define the modern era. Remarkably, the seasoned adventurer only learned to ride a motorcycle at the age of 50, proving that it is never too late to pursue a new passion.
Engaging the Community .

The event concluded with a vibrant Q&A session. Students sought career guidance from the veteran technologist, while other members of the audience inquired about the logistics of his solo travel, particularly regarding food and safety. When asked about his future plans, Dr. Vadivel indicated that he intends to traverse another 60 countries over the next two years before eventually concluding his journey back in Texas.
The evening drew to a close with a vote of thanks delivered by Literary Secretary Mr. Elaiyaraja Balasubramanian, followed by a social hour where guests shared refreshments and further discussed the evening’s inspiring tales.
