Manama : MP Maryam Al Dhaen, Deputy Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, Security and National Security Committee at the Council of Representatives, has affirmed that the kingdom’s legislative branch attaches utmost importance to supporting the Bahrain-US cooperation and strategic partnership, in light of the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
MP Al Dhaen highlighted the interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in bolstering bilateral relations to serve the deep-rooted relations between the two countries.
Al Dhaen made the statement during a meeting with a US Senate delegation, in the presence of Yahya Ali Al Mulla, Assistant Secretary-General for Committees, Sessions and Parliamentary Support, and Dr. Saleh Ibrahim Al Ghathith, Head of the Legal Consultative Authority.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance the strategic Bahrain-US relations in all fields, including the parliamentary one, to achieve common aspirations.
Members of the US Senate delegation lauded the strides made by the kingdom in the fields of development and democracy during HM King Hamad’s prosperous era, noting that the comprehensive reform initiatives launched by Bahrain have consolidated its status.
They affirmed that Bahrain is a historical strategic partner to the USA, which paves the way for strengthening bilateral cooperation across various fields.
