Manama : Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Tourism Minister, has affirmed that the Bahraini Farmers’ Market has become a favourite destination for the citizens, residents, tourists, and visitors to the Kingdom, individuals and families alike.
This is because of the unique experience it offers, including many attractive and exciting elements, namely its location in the Budaiya Botanical Garden, its good organisation, the distinguished presence of Bahraini farmers, and the Bahraini agricultural products they provide, in addition to the entertainment areas and accompanying events, she said.
While visiting the Bahraini Farmers’ Market, in its 11th edition, the minister praised the outstanding organisation of the market this year, expressing thanks and appreciation to those in charge of it for their efforts, stressing the Tourism Ministry’s keenness to support these efforts by promoting this market in Bahrain and abroad, within the agenda of important tourism and entertainment events that the kingdom hosts annually.
The Minister of Tourism was briefed on the various agricultural products offered by the participating Bahraini farmers and companies specialised in farming and agricultural nurseries, as well as small projects, productive families, date shops, apiaries, and the children’s play area.
She also praised the Market’s public facilities, resting areas and parking lots, among others, noting that such factors have made the Bahraini Farmers’ Market a perfect destination for everyone.
Minister Al Sairafi stressed that the farmers’ market is an important platform for marketing Bahraini products and locally-produced food manufacturing industries, in addition to being an entertainment and tourist season that attracts visitors from Bahrain and tourists from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The Bahraini Farmers’ Market is living proof of the unlimited support the Kingdom provides to the agricultural sector, as part of its efforts to advance the national economic development process, she added.
