New Delhi : His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of Egypt, reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position on resolving crises through peaceful means and negotiations, prioritising diplomatic solutions, respecting international law and the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of states, and rejecting escalation and the use of force.
According to the Middle East News Agency (MENA), HE President El Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with His Excellency Narendra Modi, Indian Prime Minister, on Sunday, on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
During the meeting, HE President El Sisi stressed the importance of taking concrete steps to further strengthen the bilateral partnership, including increasing bilateral trade to $12 billion and boosting Indian investments in Egypt, particularly in manufacturing, technology, clean energy and the automotive sector.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for cooperation in new and renewable energy, green hydrogen, pharmaceuticals and information technology, opening up new prospects for the private sectors of both countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, foremost among them the Palestinian issue.
