Bandar Seri Begawan : His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan of Oman, and His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, held official talks today in the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and develop them in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both countries. The two leaders also exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern.
An expanded session of official talks was subsequently held, during which the two sides discussed areas of cooperation in energy, manufacturing, mining, petrochemicals, food security and aquaculture.
The two leaders witnessed the signing of a joint statement on elevating bilateral relations to a strategic partnership, an agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, special, service and official passports, and memoranda of understanding in the fields of labour and human resources development, health cooperation, economy and strategic planning, and agriculture and fisheries.
