Manama :The collaborative breast cancer awareness initiative concluded on 31 October, bringing
together healthcare professionals, survivors, community leaders and participants to promote
breast health and the importance of early detection.

Bahrain, 31 October 2026: Al Hilal Healthcare Group, in collaboration with the Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS), successfully concluded its “Let’s Paint Bahrain Pink” breast cancer awareness campaign on Saturday, 31 October 2026. Launched on 14 October, the campaign featured ten awareness sessions held across 10 Al Hilal branches throughout Bahrain, bringing important health messages and community engagement activities closer to the public.
Curated by Raji Unnikrishnan, Senior Journalist and Board Member of MWPS, the initiative was
organised as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Al Hilal Healthcare Group, in
collaboration with MWPS and with the support of Uneeco, SBI Bahrain, The New Millennium
School, The New Indian School and the ICAI Bahrain Chapter. The campaign aimed to raise
awareness about breast health, encourage regular screening and highlight the importance of
early detection.

Throughout the campaign, each participating branch hosted an awareness session featuring
medical professionals who shared valuable information about breast health, breast cancer
symptoms, risk factors and the importance of seeking medical advice and undergoing regular
screening. In addition to the educational sessions, free breast screening services were offered,
and screening vouchers were distributed at each branch to encourage more women to
prioritise their breast health and take proactive steps towards early detection.
An important part of the campaign was the participation of breast cancer survivors, who shared
their personal journeys and experiences with attendees. Their stories brought a deeply human
perspective to the initiative, offering messages of courage, resilience and hope while encouraging open conversations about breast cancer and the importance of early diagnosis.
Their presence also served as a reminder that awareness, timely screening and community
support can make a meaningful difference in the lives of women and their families.

Alongside the medical awareness sessions, the campaign featured a variety of creative and
wellness activities across the participating branches. These included mandala art, tote bag
painting, Sip and Paint sessions, jewellery making, terrarium making, stress management
workshops and other interactive activities. The activities encouraged participation, connection
and self-expression while reinforcing the campaign’s message of care, solidarity and community
support.
The campaign reached its final destination on Saturday, 31 October, at Al Hilal Premier Hospital,
Salmaniya, marking its tenth and concluding session. The event was attended by Her Excellency
Dr Bahiya Al Jishi, Board Member of the Supreme Council for Women, as the Chief Guest.

The event also welcomed Mona Almoayyed, Chairperson of the Migrant Workers Protection
Society, as Guest of Honour. The Special Guests included His Excellency Andrea Catalano,
Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Jayashankar Vishwanathan, Chief
Executive, Uneeco Group.
The final session featured a breast health awareness contribution by Dr Fatima Al Aradi,
General Practitioner, alongside a collaborative artistic activity led by Atamjeet Singh Bawa,
bringing a creative close to the campaign’s series of activities. The finale culminated in a silent
auction of the collective artwork, *The Movement, raising over *BD2,500 for the Migrant
Workers’ Protection Society.

As part of the closing ceremony, Al Hilal Healthcare Group recognised and presented tokens of
appreciation to the individuals who conducted and facilitated the workshops throughout the
campaign. The recognition acknowledged their valuable contributions, time and efforts in
making the activities engaging and meaningful across the participating branches.
Commenting on the campaign, Dr. Sharath Chandran, Chief Executive Officer of Al Hilal
Healthcare Group, said:
“Throughout October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Al Hilal Healthcare Group conducted
nearly 100 awareness events with corporates, self-help groups, associations, gyms and sports
clubs. Every one of them had a single purpose: helping women recognise the early signs of
breast cancer and encouraging timely preventive screening. Nearly 50 free mammograms were
performed during the month. What makes ‘Let’s Paint Bahrain Pink’ especially meaningful is
that it reached every stratum of society, including a day dedicated exclusively to domestic
workers. That is why our partnership with the Migrant Workers Protection Society is so relevant
to us. Early detection saves lives, and access to it should never depend on who you are or what
you earn.”
