Manama : The Head of the Terrorism Crimes Prosecution announced that the High Criminal Court, at its session held today, Tuesday, sentenced a defendant to five years’ imprisonment and ordered the confiscation of seized items after convicting him of acts of violence and vandalism committed during the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain in March.
The case stems from a report submitted to the Public Prosecution by the competent security authority at the Ministry of Interior, stating that the defendant had been arrested in flagrante delicto at the scene while participating in acts of violence and vandalism that coincided with the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain. He was subsequently referred to the Public Prosecution.

It ordered his pretrial detention pending the investigation and heard testimony from witnesses. Based on the evidence gathered, the defendant was referred to the High Criminal Court, which heard the case over several hearings before delivering its judgment.
The Public Prosecution reaffirmed that it will continue to take firm legal action against anyone who commits acts that undermine public security or endanger the stability of society and the safety of its members. It stressed that it will deal decisively with all forms of violence in accordance with the law and in protection of the security and stability of the community.
