Manama : Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Eskan Bank, awarded the winners of the Innovative Housing Solutions hackathon at the Innovation in the Social Housing Sector 2025.
The hackathon aimed to engage young Bahrainis in exploring housing challenges and developing creative, sustainable solutions that reflect citizens’ aspirations and enhance quality of life.
The first prize went to the “Lak Bayt” project, one of five shortlisted entries. The project proposes a housing savings plan to promote financial awareness, improve quality of life, and support family stability.
The second prize was awarded to the “Bayti Assessment” project, a smart system integrated with the Bayti platform to help citizens make better housing decisions by offering comprehensive evaluations of properties and developers, along with smart comparisons between available options.
The third prize went to “Housing Flexibility for a Sustainable Future,” a concept based on modular housing construction linked to the Bayti platform, enabling users to select suitable designs through artificial intelligence.
The hackathon marks a turning point in the development of the social housing sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It reflects the Kingdom’s strategic vision for delivering innovative and sustainable housing solutions, driven by the belief that innovation requires empowering youth.
