Amman : Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs of Jordan, welcomed Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Ministers Safadi and Saidov underscored a common interest in deepening relations between the two countries and enhancing cooperation in economic, trade, investment, political, and cultural fields, in addition to defense, security and combating terrorism.
The two ministers agreed to launch an institutionalised mechanism for political consultation, which will hold its first meeting this year to determine areas of cooperation and agreements the two countries will sign.
Ministers Safadi and Saidov signed a visa exemption agreement for diplomatic passport holders, and a work program for bilateral cooperation in the next two years within the framework of international and regional organisations, international legal cooperation, consular consultations, mutual assistance in exchanging information and expanding its base, and cooperation between information, analysis and research centres.
