Bahrain has announced the death of a 72-year-old female Bahraini citizen, a registered active case of coronavirus, taking the country’s total deaths to 32.
The patient was suffering from underlying and chronic health problems. The country has been reporting more deaths in recent days.
The Ministry of Health expresses its heartfelt condolences to the individual’s family at this difficult time.
The patient, along with all other active COVID-19 cases, had been placed in isolation and received extensive 24-hour treatment from a specialised medical team.
The total cases in the country had reached 16,667 of which 11,487 have recovered making over 68 percent of the confirmed cases to recover from the virus. Currently, there are 5,148 active cases.
Also, there are 113 COVID-19 cases receiving treatment, of which 14 are in a critical condition.
So far the country has conducted 393,910 tests, which is among the highest when looking at the country’s population.
Expatriates are having the highest RO (R-Naught) in the country.
