Pakistan :  Four people were killed and more than 20 wounded in a suicide bombing in south-west Pakistan on Wednesday, two days after Pakistani Taliban called on its fighters to launch attacks across the country. A child was among the victims of the attack targeting a police patrol in Quetta, spokesman Abdul Haq. At least 15 police officers were among those wounded in the explosion, confirmed by Mr Haq to be a suicide bombing, as police prepared to escort a polio vaccination team in the provincial capital of Balochistan province. Beijing : China launched a rocket Tuesday carrying three astronauts to complete construction of the country’s permanent orbiting space station. The crew of the Shenzhou-15 will overlap for several days with the 3-member crew already onboard the Tiangong station, who will then return to Earth after their six-month mission. India : India’s border police said on Tuesday they had shot down a drone from Pakistan near Amritsar city, the latest alleged incident of increased drone use by the rival nations against each other. The Border Security Force said it shot the hexacopter late on Monday inside Indian territory near the village of Chaharpur, about 40km from Amritsar city, and found a suspected haul of drugs attached to it. London : A man has been arrested in the UK in connection with the deaths of at least 27 people who drowned while trying to cross the English Channel in a dinghy last year. Harem Ahmed Abwbaker was detained at an address in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire in a dawn raid on Tuesday, the National Crime Agency (NCA) said. The 32-year-old is accused of being a member of an organised crime gang behind the crossing in November 2021. All but two of the migrants on board died after the boat sank.
