Turkey : Tremors from the devastating earthquake that has killed at least 1,400 people in Turkey and Syria were felt as far away as Greenland. The 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck in the early hours of Monday, trapping thousands of people while they slept. Scientists said the tremors, initially reported across the Middle East and the Mediterranean, reached as far as Greenland. More than 1,400 people have been confirmed killed so far, with at least 912 of the victims in Turkey. Manama : The Quick Response (QR) Code will soon replace the information leaflet available inside the medicine boxes, said The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA). Clinicians or patients can scan the datamatrix code on the medicines packaging and access the electronic Product Information, it said in a statement today. The eLeaflet, which will be introduced gradually this year, will facilitate access to updated medical information and ensure coordination with competent authorities in the GCC members authorities.

Istanbul : Türkiye’s national flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) canceled as many as 170 flights scheduled for Monday due to the expected adverse snowy weather conditions in Istanbul. The cancellations come in accordance with the restriction decision taken by the Meteorological Emergency Committee (MADKOM), Yahya Ustun, Turkish Airlines’ senior vice president for media relations, said on Twitter. A total of 152 flights to or from Istanbul Airport, and 18 flights to or from Sabiha Gokcen Airport were canceled, he added, Schools in Istanbul and capital Ankara will also remain closed on Monday due to the extreme weather conditions.
Manama : Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro received members of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation . The meeting discussed several topics and exchanged views on the latest economic developments. The minister praised the meetings held between concerned authorities in Bahrain and the IMF with the aim of discussing and reviewing economic developments in the Kingdom. Manama : Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced additional frequencies to and from the Republic of Italy effective 06 March 2023.
