China on Wednesday moved to exempt 16 types of U.S. products from additional retaliatory tariffs, including whey and fish meal, which are fed to animals, and some lubricants, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance. The exemption will take effect on September 17 and be valid for a year through to Sept. 16, 2020. The ministry said items on the two tariff exemption lists posted on its website will not be subject to additional duties imposed by China on U.S. goods “as countermeasures to U.S. Section 301 measures”, it said. BRAVE Combat Federation has announced its return to Abu Dhabi for October 4th, when the most anticipated rematch in Arab MMA history will take place, as former Welterweight champion Jarrah Al-Selawe gets an immediate shot at reigning titleholder Abdoul Abdouraguimov. The duo fought for the first time back at BRAVE 23, in Amman, Jordan, and will run it back after one of the most evenly-matched fights in BRAVE CF’s history. Abdoul got his shot at the title after two crushing victories against Sidney Wheeler and Rodrigo Cavalheiro last year. He traveled to Jarrah’s hometown of Amman for his title shot and…
Apple is introducing a successor to its iPhone XR today, dubbed iPhone 11. The cheaper LCD-equipped iPhone XR has become the most popular iPhone in the world over the past year, and Apple is now updating it for 2019 and beyond. Like last year’s model, the iPhone 11 includes a 6.1-inch display, and the design is almost identical to last year, too, with the notch at the front for the Face ID camera. Apple is adding new color options, with purple, white, green, yellow, black, and red all available. Apple’s biggest changes are in the camera at the rear of…
RCW 108 is a region where stars are actively forming within the Milky Way galaxy about 4,000 light-years from Earth. This is a complicated region that contains young star clusters, including one that is deeply embedded in a cloud of molecular hydrogen. By using data from different telescopes, astronomers determined that star birth in this region is being triggered by the effect of nearby, massive young stars. This image is a composite of X-ray data from Chandra (blue) and infrared emission detected by Spitzer (red and orange). More than 400 X-ray sources were identified in Chandra’s observations of RCW 108. About…
ESA is hosting a workshop, in cooperation with the Luxembourg Space Agency, to identify the next steps needed to realize the first space resource utilization, in support of sustained and sustainable human presence at the Moon. The event takes place as part of the Luxembourg Space Resources week. ESA and other space agencies are working towards a sustained presence of humans in space. The Moon will be the place where we develop the capabilities we need to go further. Key to sustainability is the ability to use local resources to supply future explorers with energy, shelter, food, water, air, fuel,…
Located in the northern constellation of Ursa Major, which also includes the Big Dipper, nearby galaxy Messier 81 is easily visible through binoculars or a small telescope. M81 is located at a distance of 12 million light-years. M81 was one of the first publicly released datasets soon after the launch of the Spitzer Space Telescope in August 2003. On the occasion of Spitzer’s 16th anniversary, this new image revisits this iconic object with extended observations and improved processing. This Spitzer infrared image is a composite mosaic combining data from the Infrared Array Camera (IRAC) at wavelengths of 3.6/4.5 microns (blue/cyan) and 8 microns (green)…
Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher has been admitted to a Paris hospital to be treated on Tuesday with cutting-edge stem-cell therapy. The Paris hospital authority, citing France’s strict medical privacy rules, said it could not comment on the report in Le Parisien that Schumacher was admitted under tight guard Monday to the Georges-Pompidou hospital for transfusions of inflammation-reducing stem cells. The newspaper said the 50-year-old German, who suffered a near-fatal brain injury in a 2013 skiing accident in the French Alps, was expected to be discharged on Wednesday. His long-time manager, Sabine Kehm, had no comment. Following the accident,…

Honggang said there are tremendous potentials to develop the existing…
Choe Son-hui said they were willing to resume “comprehensive” discussions in a setting agreed by both sides. Her statement came after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo voiced hopes for talks to resume. Hours after Ms. Choe spoke, two short-range projectiles were reportedly launched from North Korea. It’s the latest in a series of tests in recent months. At their first meeting, last year, US President Donald Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un agreed to the “complete denuclearisation” of the Korean peninsula – but without determining what that meant or how to achieve it. Discussions on the finer details broke…
