Mexico City : Heavy rainfall in Mexico has left at least 27 people dead and more missing, authorities said on Friday, as downpours triggered several landslides, cut off power in some municipalities and caused rivers to burst their banks. Civil protection authorities in Hidalgo state reported 16 deaths and said at least 1,000 homes and hundreds of schools had been affected. Puebla state Governor Alejandro Armenta said at least nine people had died due to incidents such as landslides and another five had been reported missing. Shandong : China successfully launched its Gravity-1 carrier rocket from waters off the coast of Haiyang in Shandong Province, east China. The rocket lifted off at 10:20 a.m. (Beijing time), placing three satellites into their designated orbits. The offshore launch was conducted by the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center and carried a wide-field satellite along with two experimental satellites. The Gravity-1 carrier rocket previously made its maiden flight in January 2024.

Manama : The Bahrain Space Agency announced the selection of its engineer, Yousif Khalid Al Qattan, as leader of the Arab Space Pioneers team implementing the Arab Satellite 813 Project.
