Paris : Khalid Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), delivered a keynote address at Vision Golfe 2026: France-Gulf Strategic Summit, held in Paris under the theme “From Cooperation to Transformation” and organised by Business France under the patronage of President Emmanuel Macron.
He highlighted the resilience of Bahrain’s financial services sector and the opportunities for future partnerships driven by digital transformation.
The CBB Governor addressed recent regional developments and their economic implications, noting that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) emerged more integrated as a result. He also highlighted Bahrain’s economic resilience and the continued stability of its financial services sector.
He outlined Bahrain’s measures to support individuals and businesses through the support package announced by the CBB. The package included a three-month loan deferral programme and liquidity support for banks and was designed to maximise economic impact, limit fiscal implications and contain inflationary pressures.
The CBB Governor highlighted the long-standing relationship between Bahrain and France and opportunities to deepen cooperation in financial services innovation. He described financial services as Bahrain’s largest economic sector and a key driver of investment and high-value jobs, noting that payments, supervisory technology and the future of money offer opportunities for cooperation between Bahrain and France.
Vision Golfe 2026 was held at the French Ministry for the Economy, Finance and Industrial, Energy and Digital Sovereignty, bringing together senior officials and business leaders from the GCC and France to strengthen economic ties and strategic cooperation.
