Kinshasa : The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the continent’s top public health agency, confirmed a new Ebola outbreak in Ituri province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with 246 suspected cases and 65 deaths recorded. The agency stated that most of the deaths and suspected cases were recorded in the Mongwalu and Rwampara health zones, noting that four deaths were reported among laboratory-confirmed cases. Washington, : US President Donald Trump announced the killing of Abu Bilal Al Minuki, second-in-command of ISIS globally, during a joint operation conducted by US and Nigerian forces. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said US forces and the Nigerian Armed Forces carried out a “meticulously planned and very complex mission” that resulted in the killing of Al Minuki. Kuwait : His Highness Amir Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah of Kuwait sent a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron on bilateral relations and regional developments. Washington : The International Monetary Fund (IMF) welcomed the positive dialogue between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying reduced tensions between the world’s two largest economies would support the global economy.
