Manama : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 788 inspection campaigns and visits, during the week of March 24-30, which resulted in the detention of 74 violating and irregular workers, while 108 violators were deported. The inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring a number of violations related to the provisions of a number of regulating laws, especially the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and the Residency Laws in Bahrain, noting that legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations. Istanbul : At least 29 people were killed on Tuesday when a fire engulfed Istanbul’s underground Masquerade nightclub during daytime renovation work, Turkish local authorities said, prompting the evacuation of dozens of residents living above it. Firefighters doused the charred and smoking entrance to the club, which occupies two basement floors, as paramedics rushed victims into ambulances. Helsinki : A 12-year-old student opened fire at a secondary school in southern Finland and wounded three other students on Tuesday, the suspect was later arrested, police said. Heavily armed police cordoned off the lower secondary school with 800 students in the city of Vantaa, just outside the capital, Helsinki, after receiving a call about a shooting incident at 09:08 a.m. Police said both the suspect and the wounded were 12 years old, and the suspect was arrested in the Helsinki area later Tuesday.

Manama : The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), in cooperation with primary health care centres, announced the launch of an Evening Appointment Booking service through the Sehati (My Health) application, which is available on the eGovernment Applications Store at www.bahrain.bh/apps. The extension to the appointment booking service covers General Practice at healthcare centers. Citizens and residents can now schedule evening medical appointments electronically, in addition to the existing morning appointments service. Manama, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (24) of 2024 renewing the appointment of the Deputy Governor of the Capital Governorate, based on the proposal of the Minister of Interior and following the approval of the Cabinet. Article 1: The appointment of Hassan Abdullah Al Madani as Deputy Governor of the Capital Governorate shall be renewed for the period of four years. Article 1: Mohammed Salman Mohsen Al Aradi shall be appointed as the Director General of Shared Human Resources Services at the Civil Service Bureau (CSB), with the rank of Assistant Undersecretary.
