Jerusalem : More than 60,000 Muslim Palestinian worshipers today performed Eid Al-Fitr prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque. A large number of citizens visited the Old City of occupied Jerusalem since the early morning hours to participate in Eid prayers. Zimbabwe : A makeshift ferry overcrowded with residents reportedly fleeing a feared cholera outbreak capsized off Mozambique’s northern coast, killing at least 98 people including children, local media said Monday.  The ferry with an estimated 130 people aboard capsized Sunday after it departed the southeastern African nation’s coast for the nearby Island of Mozambique and at least 11 people were hospitalized, state-run Radio Mozambique quoted island administrator Silvério Nauaito as saying. Hong Kong : A fire in a large, mostly residential building in Hong Kong on Wednesday morning killed at least five people and left another 36 injured.  Some 250 residents were rescued from the New Lucky House in Hong Kong’s Jordan neighborhood and the fire was extinguished. The fire services department said that the fire began on the first and second floors of the 16-story building, where a gym and licensed guest rooms were located. Manama : The General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing has replaced the imprisonment of 210 inmates of the Reform and Rehabilitation Centre after studying the cases and implementing the legal requirements. The move is in line with the royal directives to expand the implementation of the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law and consider the social and humanitarian conditions of the inmates.
