Manama : In line with royal directives to expand the application of the Alternative Sentencing Law, the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing has replaced the sentences of 340 inmates of the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre after meeting the legal conditions for alternative sentencing. Additionally, 99 inmates have also joined the Open Prisons Programme, bringing the total number of beneficiaries since the law’s introduction to 7,441. New York : His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan met with Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, the Crown Prince of Kuwait, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting discussed historical Jordan-Kuwait relations and enhancing cooperation in various sectors. The two sides emphasised the importance of intensifying Arab efforts and coordinating with key international stakeholders. They also discussed regional and international topics of mutual interest, particularly the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, efforts to facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid, and addressing the ongoing escalation in the region.
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (81) of 2024 amending certain provisions of Decree (69) of 2004 on reorganising the Ministry of Interior, based on the proposal of the Minister of Interior and following the approval of the Cabinet. Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (82) of 2024, appointing an undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, based on a proposal by the Minister of Interior and following the approval of the Cabinet. Article I Rashid Mohammed Bounajma shall be appointed as Undersecretary for Legislative Authority Affairs at the Ministry of Interior. Article II The Minister of Interior shall implement this decree, which shall come into effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (83) of 2024, appointing the Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives, based on a proposal by the Deputy Prime Minister and following the approval of the Cabinet. Article I: Mohamed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain shall be appointed as Secretary-General of the Council of Representatives at the rank of Undersecretary.
