Manama : The Royal Medical Services announced that a sickle cell patient has been discharged from the hospital after successfully completing treatment through a bone marrow transplant using CRISPR gene-editing technology. He is the first sickle cell patient outside the US to be publicly announced as having received the treatment successfully. Manama : : Civil Defence rescued two Asian nationals after pulling them from the rubble of a building collapse in Arad, while one person died and four others were injured. Civil Defence responded to the incident in coordination with relevant Interior Ministry departments, securing the site and managing traffic in the surrounding area. Seven Civil Defence vehicles and 38 personnel were deployed to contain the incident. The National Ambulance transported the injured to hospital for medical care. Seoul : Passengers traveling on South Korean airlines will be banned from storing portable battery banks and e-cigarettes in overhead storage compartments starting next month, the South Korean government said Thursday. Nouakchott : Mohamed Ould Khaled, the Minister of Energy and Oil of Mauritania, announced that the first quantities of gas from the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) site would be shipped to the international market in late February.
