Muslims performed blessed Eid Al-Fitr prayers at the Mecca Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque today this morning, complying with mandatory health precautions in terms of numbers and measures followed in other prayers. Hong Kong police fired tear gas and pepper spray to disperse thousands protesting on Sunday against Beijing’s plan to directly impose national security laws on the city, the biggest flare-up in the city since COVID-19 lockdowns began, reported Reuters. Oman has reported its highest daily increase in coronavirus cases of 513 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19), taking the total cases in the sultanate to 7,770. Most of the newly admitted cases are from foreigners, which is 334 and the rest 179 from Omanis, according to the Ministry of Health.
