Ljubljana : Lebanese professional mixed martial artist Mohammad Fakhreddine achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Arab fighter to win three world titles under the BRAVE Combat Federation, following his victory at BRAVE CF 96, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Manama : Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, affirmed that flight GF213 from the Kingdom of Bahrain to the State of Kuwait on June 8, 2025 experienced a disturbance caused by one of the passengers, prompting the activation of precautionary and security measures in accordance with set procedures. The airline added that the situation was handled in full coordination with the relevant authorities in the State of Kuwait, where the passenger was detained by airport police upon the aircraft’s arrival at Kuwait International Airport. Yerevan : Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, met with Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, to review the current state of relations between Yerevan and Moscow. Mina : On the second day of Eid Al Adha, which is also the first day of Tashreeq, pilgrims in Mina began the ritual of throwing pebbles at the three Jamarat, starting with the Small Jamarah, then the Middle Jamarah, and finally Jamarat Al Aqaba, following in the footsteps of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued a royal decree pardoning 209 inmates on the occasion of Eid Al Adha. The royal pardon includes individuals convicted in various offences who have served part of their sentences, in addition to a number of individuals under alternative sentencing. The pardon reflects His Majesty the King’s commitment to provide those pardoned with the opportunity to reintegrate into society and contribute to Bahrain’s comprehensive development process under the leadership of HM the King.
Berlin : German police said that nine passengers were injured when a Milan-bound Ryanair flight was forced to make an emergency landing in southern Germany due to severe turbulence caused by a thunderstorm. Police said that bad weather led the pilot to make the emergency landing in Memmingen, about 113 kilometres west of Munich. The aircraft was carrying 179 passengers and six crew members.
