Manama : Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, has congratulated Bahraini artist, Maryam Zeman, on winning the “Best Actress” Award at the fourth Gulf Cinema Festival, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for her role in the Bahraini film “May Ward” (Rose Water).
The information Minister asserted that the prestigious award confirms the distinguished status reached by Bahraini art, and embodies the kingdom’s interest in the arts sector, reflecting the multi-faceted progress witnessed by Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Dr. Al Noaimi lauded Maryam Zeman’s dedication and creativity, citing her distinction in many local and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) cinematic and dramatic artistic works, wishing her continued success.
The minister praised the Gulf Cinema Festival, and described it as an important artistic gathering aimed at boosting the GCC cinema industry, noting that it has become a major event in the region that attracts leading artists and professionals in all fields of film production.
Dr. Al Noaimi commended Saudi Arabia’s interest in boosting the arts and media sectors, praising its successful organisation of the Gulf Cinema Festival, which has evolved into an event that matches the most important international film festivals.
