Manama : The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence has condemned acts aimed at defaming and disrespecting religions and peoples.
“The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence condemns and denounces all provocative and irresponsible acts that offend religions and their sacred books under the pretext of exercising freedoms. These actions have serious consequences and repercussions, as they provoke negative reactions and feelings among peoples, in addition to fueling hatred, discrimination and racism, which may lead to violence,” the Centre said in a statement.
“We, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, call for respecting religions and beliefs, as well as spreading the spirit of tolerance and coexistence among peoples, with the need to exercise public freedoms and rights in a way that would not lead to offenses, stir up strife, and prejudice security, stability, and peaceful coexistence among the components of the same society,” the statement added.
