Manama : Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), said the strategic partnership between Tamkeen and the Ministry of Youth Affairs in organising Youth City 2030 reflects national efforts to invest in Bahraini youth by equipping them with the skills, knowledge and experience required to enhance their competitiveness across various sectors.
The Chief Executive said Youth City 2030 is one of the Kingdom’s leading youth initiatives and supports the development of national talent by preparing young Bahrainis to participate effectively in national development.
She noted that Youth City 2030 has, over the past 15 years, enabled thousands of participants to acquire specialised skills that have supported their educational and professional development and strengthened their presence across different sectors.
Mofeez said the significant expansion of the 15th edition, including more than 150 new training programmes and increased numbers of participants and training opportunities, reflects the continued development of the initiative. She added that it also aligns with Tamkeen’s strategy of investing in national talent by linking skills with labour market opportunities, adopting innovative approaches that enhance productivity and competitiveness, supporting the growth and financing of the private sector, and strengthening the fund’s governance and institutional culture.
She said Tamkeen, as it enters its third decade, will continue expanding specialised programmes and opportunities for Bahraini youth in line with national aspirations, contributing to economic and social development and strengthening the role of young Bahrainis as active partners in building a more prosperous and sustainable future.
