Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the Gadeha “Up to the Challenge” Junior Training Camp.
HM the King was accompanied by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King.
The camp is held under the directives of Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, and under the supervision of Colonel His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard Special Operations. It is organised in partnership between the Royal Guard and Studio Master and provides young participants with an integrated training experience combining physical and educational challenges with life skills.
His Majesty was received upon arrival by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad.
HM the King viewed a range of training exercises, programmes, activities and experiences offered to young participants, aimed at developing their personal skills, instilling the values of commitment and discipline, enhancing self-confidence, national belonging and teamwork, and fostering responsibility and character development.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad briefed HM the King on the camp’s objectives and programmes, the number of young participants across different age groups, and the positive response from parents to the camp and its objectives.
His Majesty commended the success achieved by the Gadeha Camp in its first edition as a leading national initiative, highlighting its diverse training programmes and practical experiences, as well as the wide participation and positive engagement of young participants.
HM the King highlighted the camp’s role in developing participants’ physical and mental capabilities, building their character, enhancing national belonging and identity, and equipping them with the experience and skills needed to become a generation capable of assuming responsibility, demonstrating leadership, developing self-reliance and facing challenges. HM the King also praised the commitment and discipline demonstrated by the participants and their ability to perform the training exercises with proficiency and competence.
His Majesty commended the efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad in establishing the training camp, noting that the initiative reflects His Highness’s commitment to youth and to launching programmes that develop their character and equip them with skills, experiences and values that benefit them throughout their lives.
HM the King also expressed appreciation for the efforts and follow-up of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, and the efforts of the camp organisers and trainers and the entities supporting and contributing to its organisation. His Majesty wished all participants success and continued benefit from the experience and achievements gained at the camp.
His Majesty expressed pride in the central role of youth and their active contributions to Bahrain’s development and to enhancing the Kingdom’s international standing and leadership. HM the King said that youth are the makers of the future and pioneers of innovation, and that investing in their potential and empowering them is an investment in national development and the progress and prosperity of societies.
His Majesty wished Bahrain’s youth continued success and excellence in achieving their aspirations and serving their country and community.
At the conclusion of the visit, HM the King received a commemorative gift from Ahmed Al Shaikh, Chairman of the camp’s Organising Committee and Director of the Media Office of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad.
