Manama : Foundation works to build 69 new housing units commenced in Salman City. The project covers a total area of 13,891 square metres, with housing units ranging in size from 174 to 261 square metres and averaging 200 square metres each. Unit prices are aligned with the requirements of the ministry’s financing programmes in cooperation with participating banks.
The event was attended by Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, and Abdullah Ali, Chief Executive Officer of Delmon Gate Company.
The project forms part of the ministry’s plan to construct 137 new housing units in Salman City in partnership with the private sector under the Government Land Development Rights Programme.
Minister Al Rumaihi said that the Government Land Development Rights Programme represents an advanced model of public-private partnership in the housing sector, contributing to increased housing supply, enhancing project delivery efficiency and providing diverse housing products that meet the needs of Bahraini families and beneficiaries of various housing programmes.
The Housing Minister highlighted the programme’s positive outcomes through projects such as Suhail Project in Al Lawzi, Al Naseem District project in Salman City, Al Wadi project in Buhair, and Danat Hoorat Sanad project, which have attracted strong demand from citizens.
Minister Al Rumaihi noted that the commencement of foundation works comes in line with the approved project timeline following the signing of the partnership agreement. She added that the project builds on the existing cooperation between the ministry and Delmon Gate Company following the implementation of Al Naseem District project in Salman City, which included 131 housing units offered to beneficiaries of housing finance programmes.
The Housing Minister highlighted that the ministry continues to expand projects under the Government Land Development Rights Programme across the Kingdom of Bahrain, supporting greater private sector participation in housing development and contributing to the national objective of accelerating the provision of housing services to citizens.
Minister Al Rumaihi also commended Delmon Gate Company for its commitment to implementing the project in accordance with approved technical and engineering standards and the agreed timeline, noting that the company’s continued cooperation with the ministry contributes to increasing housing supply and providing additional options for citizens.
For his part, the CEO of Delmon Gate Company expressed pride in continuing cooperation with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning through the project, affirming that the partnership represents a practical model of integration between the public and private sectors in housing development.
