Manama : The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) carried out 1,549 inspection campaigns and visits between 25 and 31 January 2026. These resulted in the arrest of 17 violating and irregular workers, while 146 violators were deported during the same period.
The inspection campaigns and visits also led to the detection of a number of violations related to several regulating laws, in particular the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Law and the Residency Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures were taken against the recorded violations.
The LMRA explained that 1,513 inspection visits were conducted at various commercial establishments across all governorates, in addition to 36 joint inspection campaigns. These included 14 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 11 in the Muharraq Governorate, six in the Northern Governorate, and five in the Southern Governorate. The campaigns were carried out with the participation of the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, the security directorates in the governorates, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, and the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Social Insurance Organisation, and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.
The Authority underlined the continuation of joint coordination with government entities to intensify inspection campaigns across all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain and to address any violations or practices that negatively affect the labour market, its stability and competitiveness, or harm the Kingdom’s economic and social security.
The LMRA renewed its call on all members of society to support the efforts of government entities in addressing illegal labour market practices and irregular labour, in order to protect society as a whole. It urged the public to report any complaints related to labour market violations and irregular labour through the electronic reporting form on the Authority’s official website at www.lmra.gov.bh, via the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), or by calling the Authority’s call centre on 17506055.
