Tokyo : His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, arrived in Japan to attend the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, which will be held in Japan from 19 September to 4 October.
His Highness was received upon his arrival in Japan by Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Japan, and Ahmed Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar, Head of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the Games.
On this occasion, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa said that participation in the Asian Games represents an important milestone for Bahraini sport and a valuable opportunity to strengthen the Kingdom’s presence and standing across various levels.
His Highness said: “The Asian Games represent one of the most important sporting events on the continent, and through Team Bahrain’s participation, we look forward to continuing our honourable presence and achieving results that reflect the development and progress of Bahraini sport, as well as the strong capabilities and competitive potential of our athletes.”
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa added: “We are confident in the ability of Bahrain’s champions to deliver their best performances and raise the Kingdom’s flag high at this major continental event. The readiness and preparation we have witnessed among our national teams and athletes give us every reason to be optimistic about a positive participation that will add to Bahrain’s record of achievements at the Asian Games.”
His Highness noted that Bahrain’s presence at Aichi-Nagoya is not limited to the pursuit of medals, but also represents an opportunity to gain experience and compete alongside the continent’s leading athletes. He stressed the importance of demonstrating a strong competitive spirit and presenting an image worthy of the name and standing of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
His Highness praised the efforts of the administrative and technical delegation, as well as all participating sports federations, in creating the best possible conditions for the athletes. He wished all members of Team Bahrain success in the Games and further achievements, while expressing his confidence in Japan’s ability to host one of the most successful editions of the Asian Games.
