Manama : Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, highlighted the role of Muharraq Nights festival in showcasing Bahrain’s cultural identity.
She noted that this year’s edition featured the opening of all houses along the UNESCO-listed Pearling Path, positioning it as a key cultural tourism destination in line with the 2022–2026 Tourism Strategy.
During a tour of the festival, the minister emphasised its unique blend of authenticity and innovation, commending the strong turnout from citizens, residents, and visitors.
She commended the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) for its efforts in organising the festival, noting that the cooperation between culture and tourism strengthens Bahrain’s status as a distinguished cultural tourism hub.
Al Sairafi added that heritage sites are vital attractions, enriching the country’s tourism infrastructure. She also highlighted the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority’s (BTEA) active promotion of Muharraq Nights as a leading event within Bahrain’s festive season. The authority launched innovative tourism packages and interactive platforms in Gulf capitals, which successfully attracted a significant number of visitors, particularly from GCC countries, to join Bahrain’s celebrations.
The minister expressed her appreciation for the private sector’s support, noting that the collaboration between public and private entities reinforces Bahrain’s reputation as a leading regional and international tourism destination.
